28 Sep Newsletter September 2017
Below you will read about new developments and activities the WAIG committee is busy with, including feedback on the progress of previous matters.
Security at Wonderboom remains a challenge however we as WAIG are confident that it is moving in the right direction. Should you pick up any issues, please do not hesitate to contact airport management in this regard on the details we sent out earlier this month and should your complaint not be addressed please contact us.
We are glad to inform you that the Pay Parking Machines will soon be upgraded and you would be able to pay your parking with a Credit Card which will be more convenient for all.
We are aware that fuel at the airport is an ongoing struggle, the end of the current tender is due soon, WAIG submitted a letter to City of Tshwane to propose a possible solution to improve the current situation and it is currently under their consideration.
It is with great excitement and pleasure to inform you that Wonderboom National Airport and WAIG will be hosting its first annual Fly-In on Sunday the 29th of October 2017.
As a valuable WAIG member we invite you to make use of this wonderful network opportunity to showcase your company on the day at no cost, to fellow aviators that fly in for the day. To add value we are planning static displays and flips on vintage aircraft, a percentage of money raised on the Fly-in will go towards a charity organisation Rock of Hope. For more information please visit, www.placeofsafety.co.za/nurseries/rock-of-hope/.
We also invite you to consider sponsoring an amount of R2 000.00, the funds accumulated will be used by WAIG to market the event and to cover the cost of the logistics.
- Your logo will be included in all promotional and marketing material.
- Your company will be recognised pre and post the event.
Deadline to inform us in writing of sponsorship will be 5th of October 2017 at 17h00.
The media will be invited to cover the event.
We have already confirmed that landing, approach, Pax and parking fees will be waived by Wonderboom National Airport for the day (subject to a registration process); therefore, please invite your aviator friends to join us for a fun-filled day. WAIG is busy negotiating a better fuel price for the day for the visiting aircraft and we will send the details once it has been confirmed with the sponsor.
This is our first event of this nature and we will appreciate any input from our members in making this day a success.
We will be sending through more information as we confirm arrangements, please inform us timeously should you want to get involved.
Help us to help you! Please forward any outstanding issues or concerns you may have relevant to Wonderboom Airport, we would like to compile and correlate a list, which will be submitted to WBNA management. Thereafter WAIG will monitor and follow up on the status of each issue listed.
